Kansas legend Danny Manning is entering his first season as the men’s head basketball coach at Tulsa, and the Golden Hurricane will be sporting a different look this season thanks to input from Manning.
Manning worked with Tulsa equipment manager Greg Criser and director of basketball operations Justin Bauman to create new uniforms for his team. The Golden Hurricane will be able to choose from white, black and gold — all of which have a script “Tulsa” running across the chest, replacing the block lettering from previous seasons.
We’re always a fan of going with script over regular print any day, so that was a good call on Manning’s and his colleagues’ part. And cutting the ridiculous tiger print pattern from the sides of the shorts is also a plus.
Now that his team looks good, Manning’s next task is getting Tulsa back to its first Big Dance since 2003. Grade: B+
