Fans in the South can get really crazy when it comes to SEC football and LSU fans are arguably the most unstable of the bunch. And what a group of Tiger fans did before Saturday’s game with No. 1 Alabama was nothing short of deranged.
The Twitter handle for ESPN The Magazine tweeted this out Saturday morning, causing hysteria on the internet:
Smoking a baby elephant. To eat. If you can top this, let us know where to find you. #1Day1Game twitter.com/ESPNMag/status…

The “joke,” of course, is that Alabama’s mascot is an elephant. Apparently – and thankfully – it wasn’t an actual baby elephant. According to Twitter user kato43, it was a traditional pig roast with a twist: A trunk and floppy ears were sewn onto the pig to make it look like a baby elephant.

While we’re glad no baby elephants were harmed, we’re not sure this is any less insane.
