Washington State coach Mike Leach is a fan of mascot death matches. So it made sense that he suggested one to intrastate rival Washington in light of Huskies coach Steve Sarkisian bringing a live tiger to practice on Tuesday in preparation for UW’s game at LSU.
“They could have stuck a husky in there with that tiger and let that husky outduel the tiger inside that cage,” Leach said following Cougars practice on Wednesday when asked about Coach Sark’s tactic. “That would send a message to everybody.”
Yeah, that or the complete annihilation of Washington’s live husky mascot, Dubs.
Is it us or does it always look like Leach waits patiently through the football-related questions until someone asks him something completely off-the-wall? Like which Civil War generals he would compare his players to.
