World Wrestling Entertainment decided to bestow an honorary championship belt on Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin during its stop in College Station on Sunday. Of course, nothing in wrestling is truly complete without contributions from a classic heel.
Enter Big Show, stage left.
After Sumlin was presented with his belt by Alberto Del Rio, Big Show entered the ring at Reed Arena.
“We have an illegitimate champion in Alberto Del Rio passing out symbolic world championships to people who don’t deserve it,” Big Show told the crowd. “Just because you’re some kind of football coach at a second-rate university, you think you deserve the heavyweight championship?”
Big Show did grow up in South Carolina but we’re guessing he was merely acting the part of a Gamecocks superfan insulting the coach of a conference rival.
Needless to say, Big Show showing up Sumlin didn’t go over well.
