Everyone has a favorite player. But eventually, they all must leave us.
Corey Brandt, a 27-year-old graphic designer from Indiana and huge Kentucky fan learned this the hard way. At a Pistons-Pacers game in Indianapolis two weeks ago, Brandt was seen ripping off his Pistons’ Tayshaun Prince jersey after discovering Prince had been traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. You can watch the original video here.
Fortunately, this story has a happy ending. Prince took the time to meet Brandt and thank him for his support before the Grizzlies’ game on Sunday against the Timberwolves in Memphis. The Commercial Appeal, in conjunction with the Grizzlies, organized a trip for Brandt to Memphis, where he was surprised by his hero.
