If Kent State football aspires to be a part of SportsCenter’s “Not Top 10” list on a weekly basis this season, it’s off to a roaring start.
In the third quarter of KSU’s 47–14 loss at Kentucky on Saturday and pinned up against their own goal line, running back Dri Archer got his feet tangled with QB Spencer Keith during a handoff. Archer tumbled to the turf, resulting in a safety.
The ignominious play came nine days after Archer’s and Keith’s teammate, Andre Parker, took a fumbled punt 60 yards the wrong way in the season opener against Towson.
We already have a name picked out should Kent State keep up these shenanigans in 2012: “Golden Flashes of Brilliance.”
