As Miss Alabama USA 2012, Katherine Webb is used to people fawning over her good looks.
So when ESPN’s Brent Musburger made several comments about her on the air during Monday’s BCS title game, AJ McCarron’s girlfriend didn’t take offense to it even though Musburger has faced criticism and the Worldwide Leader felt compelled to issue an apology on Tuesday.
“I think the media has been really unfair to him,” Webb said on Wednesday’s edition of “The Today Show.” “I think that if he would have said some along the lines that we were hot or sexy or made any derogatory statements like that, I think that would have been a little bit different. But the fact that he said that we were beautiful and gorgeous, I don’t see why any woman wouldn’t be flattered by that.”
Webb also said that while she appreciated ESPN’s apology, she said that it wasn’t necessary. She also said that while she was flattered by all the attention she’s received, the bulk of the attention should be paid to Alabama for its second consecutive BCS title.
Handled like a true beauty pageant veteran.
