[Update: Boeheim's outrage is over Katz's coverage of the Bernie Fine investigation. It doesn't sound like Katz should expect an apology anytime soon.]
Syracuse head coach and noted curmudgeon Jim Boeheim was in a foul mood after the Orange’s 66-58 loss to Connecticut on Wednesday night, the team’s third defeat in its last five games.
So how did Boeheim let off some steam? By chewing out Andy Katz after the ESPN reporter posed a question at the postgame press conference.
Replied Boeheim: “I’ll answer anybody’s question but yours because you’re an idiot and a disloyal person. There are a few other things I could add but I’m not going to go there.”
It is believed that Boeheim was mad about Katz sharing information about the academic issues of forward James Southerland that Boeheim believed were off the record.
Whatever the case may be, Boeheim has consistently shown over the years that you don’t want to be on his bad side.
