South Carolina star DE Jadeveon Clowney is almost universally predicted to go No. 1 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. Reportedly among those vying to represent Clowney is none other than Jay Z and his months-old agency, Roc Nation Sports.
According to @InsideTheLeague Jadeveon Clowney is in regular contact with Jay Z & will likely end up choosing Roc Nation Sports.

As Larry Brown Sports’ Steve DelVecchio points out, there’s one problem with this “regular contact” if it’s in fact true: Jay Z is not yet a certified NFL agent and, thus, is not allowed by the NFL to have direct contact with college players (it would not be an NCAA violation, as long as impermissible benefits are not involved and they do not reach an agreement for representation).
If this issue is cleared up and Clowney’s contact with Roc Nation continues, he’s a good bet to make good on Heitner’s prediction above. Having signed NBA star Kevin Durant back in June, Roc Nation is already a sports agency force to be reckoned with.
