Idaho State (4–12) may be en route to a subpar season, but for one night Bengals guard Chris Hansen put the program on the map.
With his team trailing visiting Sacramento State, 29–18, just before halftime, Hansen found himself with the ball near his team’s own basket. With the game clock winding down, Hansen chucked the ball toward the Sacramento State basket — and it banked in from 88 feet out.
The Idaho State team’s reaction is incredibly subdued considering how miraculous the shot was. Granted, since they only scored 21 points in the first half, maybe they were right to be subdued.
What’s even better, the shot made a difference in the end as the Bengals pulled out a 60–59 victory.
