Tim Tebow’s jump pass is out of style. Blind and over-the-back is the way to go now, as the Tumwater (WA) Thunderbirds demonstrated in their victory over Olympia’s Capital High last Saturday.
On a two-point conversion try, Tumwater QB Jayden Croft took the snap from under center, faked a hand off and lofted the ball over his head backwards. Waiting in the end zone was Washington OT/DT commit Jamie Bryant, who beat a single Capital defender for the conversion to tie the score at 21.
We’re not just impressed by the execution, we’re impressed by having the guts to call it in a close contest (the game went into overtime, where Tumwater prevailed, 35-28).
We can only hope Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian adds this to the Huskies’ playbook when Bryant arrives on campus next fall.
