Even football video gamers would struggle to match the stat line that high school QB Will Grier put up on Friday night.
A junior at Davidson (NC) Day School, Grier completed 35-of-42 passes for 837 yards and 10 touchdowns in a 104–80 victory over Harrells Christian Academy. We’ll type that final score again, in italics, to emphasize its absurdity. 104–80.
Grier — a recruit with scholarship offers from Florida, Tennessee, Wake Forest, North Carolina, East Carolina and Louisiana-Lafayette — crushed the previous national record of 764 passing yards in a high school game.
You can bet Grier is going to be flooded with recruiting mail from programs around the country this week after that performance.
