It’s hard to forget anyone with a name like “Seventh Woods.” It’s even harder to forget that person if they’re a prodigiously talented, 14-year-old basketball phenom.
As a freshman at Hammond School in Columbia, SC, this past season, Woods was the leading scorer (19.3 PPG) for a Skyhawks team that went 22–5. The school’s mascot is a fitting descriptor of Wood’s spectacular frequently-above-the-rim style of play. He’s pulling off the types of dunks and blocks that we didn’t see from LeBron James until well into his high school career.
Much to the chagrin of Hammond School’s opponents, they have to face Woods — who is sure to get both bigger and better — for another three years. In the meantime, he can sit back as he’s surely flooded with scholarship offers from every top program in the country.
