Before he burst to the forefront of the 2012 Heisman Trophy discussion, Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel might have been best known for dressing up as Scooby-Doo for Halloween and partying hard with coeds. At the presentation for the stiff-armed statue on Saturday, “Johnny Football” might acknowledge that with his outfit.
Manziel’s uncle, Harley Hooper, who runs a chain of successful men’s clothing stores near College Station has suggested that his nephew wear Scooby-Doo socks — similar to how 2011 Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III rocked Superman socks when accepting the award last year.
And no, Hooper isn’t suggesting that Manziel wear the full Scooby-Doo outfit. Rather he has suggested a dark blue suit.
If Manziel rocks the socks and wins the award, all Heisman finalists might want to start considering nutty socks for the ceremony.
