Former USC QB Todd Marinovich has endured his share of ups and downs since the end of his playing career, many of which he brought upon himself through his longstanding battle with substance abuse. The onetime prep superstar’s second career, as an artist, was recently in jeopardy for another reason.
Marinovich told TMZ that an August bout with carpel tunnel syndrome was so bad, he couldn’t even hold a dinner fork. After going under the knife, Marinovich is again producing works for his online-based art gallery.
With the Trojans heading to the Rose Bowl to face UCLA this Saturday, USC fans will no doubt recall Marinovich’s performance in the rivalry game 22 years ago. His 23-yard TD pass to Johnny Morton with 20 seconds left gave his team a heart-stopping, 45–42 victory.
Marinovich currently makes his home in Newport Beach with his wife, Alexandria, and two children, Baron and Coski. Todd Marinovich profile
