It didn’t take long for Sam Gordon’s internet fame to garner a segment from national morning TV talk shows.
After a video of her domination of an all-boys youth football league got everyone buzzing — as of Thursday at 11 AM ET it has nearly 1.9 million views since her father, Brent, posted it to YouTube on Monday — Gordon was a guest on Thursday’s edition of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
From the segment we learned that Gordon is a nine-year-old from South Jordan, UT, and that the highlights her dad compiled were from Gordon’s first season competing in Salt Lake City’s “Gremlins League.” And Sam, in fact, aspires to play the other football, with the U.S. women’s soccer team.
She certainly has the interview chops befitting a pro athlete.
“Every once in a while I feel nervous,” she told co-host Josh Elliott. “But most of the time it’s just really fun being the one scoring the touchdowns rather than the boys.”
Whatever sporting path Sam Gordon pursues, we wish her the best of luck.
