USA Today’s Michael Hiestand reported in his “Sports Television” column on Tuesday that Erin Andrews will be joined by two former college stars, Ohio State’s Eddie George and Oregon’s Joey Harrington, on the new FOX “College Football Pregame Show.”
According to Hiestand, Andrews had auditioned with both George and Harrington in Los Angeles for the FOX show while Andrews was still in negotiations and under contract with ESPN. In fact, cameras from TMZ followed George and Andrews at a dinner organized by FOX executives in West Hollywood.
“We both panic, because I hadn’t decided to go to Fox,” Andrews told Hiestand. “They didn’t put it all together.”
The new pregame show will air at 7:30 PM ET Saturday, right before Fox’s weekly prime-time game.
Since retiring from football, George — the 1995 Heisman Trophy with the Buckeyes — has worked as a Big Ten Network broadcaster while also earning an MBA from Northwestern. He’s also done some Shakespearean acting.
Harrington has also worked in the booth, as an NFL and college football commentator with FOX Sports Radio and a color analyst for Oregon Ducks football games on the Oregon Sports Network. Joey Harrington profile | Eddie George profile
