Andrew Wiggins, the top overall basketball recruit in the Class of 2013, made his official visit to Florida State on Wednesday night for the Seminoles’ game against Florida. The FSU community tried selling him on the one thing teenage boys know the school best for: Its women.
No, we’re not implying that the athletics department arranged for women to throw themselves at the Ontario native. We’re merely pointing out that Wiggins was not lacking for female adulation in Tallahassee.
There was the group of female fans who spelled out “We Want Wiggins!” in Sharpie on white t-shirts. The FSU cheerleaders who tried convincing Wiggins that “Seminoles hunt Wildcats” and that “FSU has hotter girls.” And there was the photo op below with FSU coeds smothering Wiggins.
Wiggins, who currently plays at Huntington Prep in West Virginia, is considering FSU among the likes of Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke and Kansas. The Seminoles already have an in with the Wiggins family since both his parents attended the school and his dad, Mitchell, played for the FSU basketball team.
If Wiggins was actually focusing on basketball, however, he likely left Florida State underwhelmed. The Seminoles suffered a 72–47 rout at the hands of its in-state archrival, Florida.
