A litany of injuries to his knees, ankle and back prevented former Ohio State star Anthony Gonzalez from having the impact projected for him as a first round pick of the Colts in 2007. So he has given up football … in favor of Stanford Business School.
“The people here are so accomplished and so humble, it’s not that big a deal,” Gonzalez told the Cleveland Plain Dealer from Palo Alto, where his first year of classes started last week.
When the 28-year-old Gonzalez was released by the Patriots in May, it paved the way for him to gain entry to Stanford’s illustrious two-year business program.
While it’s a shame that football at the next level couldn’t work out for Gonzalez, being at a premier business school is a pretty good fallback plan. Anthony Gonzalez profile
