Vanity license plates honoring a fan’s favorite college football team is big business in SEC country, but one South Carolina fan should have put a little more thought into his or her pair.
As discovered on a message board at SEC Rant, one South Carolina die-hard got a plate that reads, “GMEC0CK” – unless this has been Photoshopped. Only seven characters are allowed on license plates in the state, meaning “Gamecock” could not be spelled out. However, the driver probably should have picked another letter to leave out, as the first part of the license plate currently appears to read “Gimme” instead of “Game.” We’re guessing (and hoping) that wasn’t the fan’s intent.
What’s even more disturbing is that the driver used a zero instead of an “O” in the license plate, meaning there is likely another driver with a “GMECOCK” license plate driving around the state.
