What better way to liven up a second-tier holiday like President’s Day than to dress up for it during a second-tier Big East basketball game?
So went the logic of the ESPNU crew covering Monday’s Rutgers-Villanova game in Philadelphia. Play-by-play man Adam Amin doffed a powdered wig and a frilly white shirt as his representation of George Washington, while color commentating partner LaPhonso Ellis sported a top hat and bow tie in playing the part of Abraham Lincoln.
As impressive as Amin’s and Ellis’ costumes were, they were both overshadowed by bracketologist Joe Lunardi, who was working the game as a sideline reporter. His Benjamin Franklin outfit was hilariously awesome. Who cares if he wasn’t even a president?
