Eric Devendorf’s international passport already includes stamps from New Zealand, Australia and Turkey (to go along with three stints in the D-League). Now the mercurial former Syracuse guard is heading to Ukraine after inking a contract with Dnipro Azot.
Like his time with the Orange, Devendorf’s pro career has been up-and-down. He won a New Zealand Basketball League title with the Wellington Saints in 2010, averaging 23.1 points per game. But only after his release from NBL rival Waikato Pistons earlier that season, when he was involved in a bar fight.
Devendorf’s temper also landed him in hot water in college, when an altercation with a female student nearly got him suspended for the duration of the 2008–09 academic year. After successfully appealing, Devendorf returned in time to help lead ‘Cuse to the 2009 Sweet Sixteen. Eric Devendorf profile
