Cyclones LB: Geno Smith Shoved Our DC

Consider Iowa State’s Jake Knott among those unimpressed with West Virginia star QB Geno Smith.

The Cyclones senior linebacker, whose season ended in October as the result of a left shoulder injury, accused Smith of being less than courteous to Iowa State defensive coordinator Wally Burnham at halftime of their Friday game in Ames.

As of 1:30 PM ET on Monday, Knott’s tweet has been retweeted 239 times since he posted it on Saturday. It’s the second time this season that Smith has raised eyebrows at a Big 12 road game as he flashed the “Horns Down” sign at Texas in October.

Being confined to the sideline clearly didn’t do anything to disrupt Knott’s penchant for going after opposing offenses.

He was taunting the recruits of Texas, when they beat Texas and I was glad they lost five straight games after that incident. That’s what happens, when you think you are great, but you have to have a good offensive line to make good progress and he didn’t cut it after that incident.
