The NFL combine is all about leaving a lasting impression in the minds of GMs and scouts present. In which case, Shamarko Thomas’ showing was a rousing success.
The Syracuse DB ran a blazing 4.38 in the 40-yard dash. And immediately after crossing the line, Thomas did a face plant into the Lucas Oil Stadium turf.
While embarrassing, Thomas is no doubt thankful that his tumble took place after his run. Had he been bitten by the turf monster at the start of his run a la Vick Ballard one year ago, that would have been a different story.
A fast 40 time, a memorable tumble and a unique first name? Yup, Shamarko Thomas won’t be forgotten by NFL teams’ personnel anytime soon.
