Zach Golditch, a 6-5, 260-pound offensive tackle from Aurora, Colo., and a Colorado State recruit for the class of 2013, was one of millions of people who went to midnight showings of The Dark Knight on Thursday.
But instead of a night of entertainment, Golditch was caught up in a senseless tragedy.
A former University of Colorado graduate student, James Holmes, opened fire on the audience at an Aurora movie theater, killing 12 and wounding approximately 50 more.
Fort Collins Coloradoan sportswriter and columnist Matt Stephens was the first to report that Golditch was one of the wounded. Stephens also said that one other CSU player was at the theater.
The extent of Golditch’s injuries isn’t known at this time, but he sent out this Tweet shortly after noon today assuring people of his safety.
Thank you God for the gift of life! i promise it will not go to waste

Yahoo! Sports confirmed with Golditch’s high school coach, Justin Hoffman, that he was injured in the shooting, saying, “He’s at home and he’s recovering.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this horrible act of violence.
