Jadeveon Clowney’s hit on Vincent Smith on Tuesday was delivered with such ferocity it felt too powerful to be a mere tackle. It brought to mind something one would more likely see in a video game.
Appropriately, Terrance Donnels — better known to the college football masses as GIF-making extraordinaire “LSUFreek” — memorialized Clowney’s already legendary hit Mortal Kombat-style.
The classic video game’s phrase of “Finish Him” appears on the screen before the play. After Clowney’s big hit, Smith’s dislodged helmet is made to resemble a decapitated head, and “Fatality” flashes across the screen following Clowney’s fumble recovery.
While neither Smith nor his parents likely appreciate the thought of him being decapitated, we tip our caps to Donnels once again for finding the perfect analogy for Clowney’s epic hit.
