For the past 20 years, Kentucky fans must have dreamed about what it would be like to stomp Christian Laettner in the chest after the foot plant he delivered to Aminu Timberlake in the 1992 Big Dance.
Today is a happy day for Wildcat fans everywhere.
On Monday morning, FOX Sports tweeted a photo of Laettner allowing former Kentucky center Anthony Davis to return the favor two decades after Laettner became Public Enemy No. 1 in Lexington for “the stomp” and “the shot” in the 1992 Elite Eight.
Needless to say, this photo is awesome. First thing to point out is the link between past and present: Both Laettner and Davis are the only college players on their respective Dream Teams.
And props to Laettner for perpetuating his increasingly hilarious turn as the ultimate heel for Kentucky basketball, as first evidenced by his cameo in last year’s Big Blue All Stars vs. Villains game.
The caption on the Kentucky Sports Radio post says it best: “Stop making me like you, Christian Laettner!” Christian Laettner profile
