If you’ve never heard of Canada’s Brandon University in Manitoba, you’re not alone.
But the school north of the border provided one of the best moments of the college basketball season on Friday night. That’s when a student at the university, Mason Kaluzniak, was presented an opportunity to win a semester’s tuition by hitting a halfcourt shot during a game between Brandon and Regina.
Kaluzniak called over Brandon head coach Gil Cheung to take the shot for him, and Cheung delivered by hitting nothing but net.
Any time one of Cheung’s players misses an open shot, he should respond, “I could have hit that from half court!”
