Kentucky’s John Calipari lacks the vaulting ability of gold and silver medal-winning U.S. gymnast McKayla Maroney. However, he does share a penchant for looking like he’s not impressed.
During his eighth-ranked team’s 64–50 loss to Notre Dame on Thursday night, a photographer with impeccable timing snapped a photo of Coach Cal making almost the same exact face that Maroney made on the medal stand following her disappointing (for her) second place finish in the vault competition at this summer’s London Olympics.
As many folks know, the photo of Maroney became a viral phenomenon. One so pervasive that she recently posed with President Barack Obama for a photo where both were making the famous face.
Considering the lackluster offensive performance of his team against the Irish, Calipari shouldn’t have been impressed.
