Items Stolen from Ohio Stadium Worth $5K

In the 11 days since Ohio State’s football team played its most recent game, Ohio Stadium has had some visitors. But not the welcome kind.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday that $5,000 worth of merchandise and equipment was vandalized or stolen from the stadium. The breaking and entering was reported to the Ohio State Police Department on Nov. 5. Among the pilfered items in question are four stereos, TV equipment and 59 pieces of merchandise such as hats, sweatshirts and jewelry.

University Police deputy chief Richard Morman says that the trespassers may be caught on camera. Morman also pointed to an item left behind as a clue: a baseball cap for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Single A affiliate for the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Timber Rattlers play their home games in Grand Chute. It’s located roughly two hours north of the Madison campus of Ohio State’s next opponent, Wisconsin.

We’re not implicating that the burglary was the work of a Badgers fan in advance of Saturday. But it sure would be funny.
