A memo to Ohio State backup quarterback Cardale Jones: Just because you think something doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to tweet it.
On Friday morning, Jones — whose Twitter feed (@Cordale10) can only be viewed by confirmed followers — let the world know what he thought of attending classes.
His tweet reads: “Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain’t come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS” (yes, his Twitter name is misspelled).
While there is some cold hard truth to Jones’ observation, the line “We ain’t come to play SCHOOL” shows why Jones could use some more English courses in Columbus. It should also be noted that without an NFL career likely ahead of him, Jones should do everything he can to take advantage of his scholarship and get a college education that can benefit him the rest of his life.
Don’t be surprised if this slip-up leads to a moratorium on any and all Twitter activity from Ohio State players. In the lexicon of brain fart tweets, this is right up there with the worst.
