Boise Unveils Saturday’s ‘Black Out’ Unis

You didn’t think that the darlings of college football would be left behind on the all-black uniform trend, did you?

For its Homecoming Game against UNLV on Saturday, Boise State will run onto its trademark blue field wearing black jerseys, helmets, pants, socks and shoes.

The best part of this ensemble is the helmet. The gray outlined single Bronco head combat logo, featured on one side of the helmet, looks positively foreboding with a black background. And the orange eye peeking out of the bronco head is downright menacing. While the jerseys look sharp enough, we miss the orange-and-blue dominant color scheme that Boise State usually sports.

Nonetheless, the Broncos want to demonstrate to their fans, players and recruits that they can be trendy like everyone else. They’ve done so in a classy way. Grade: A-
