Success on the recruiting trail has never been so sweet for Billy Donovan — literally.
Florida’s men’s basketball coach received a commitment from Chris Walker — one of the top players in the Class of 2013 — over the weekend. He joins Florida Elite teammate Kasey Hill and gives the Gators two consensus top-10 players for their class (Walker is ranked No. 6 overall by Rivals.com and Hill is No. 7).
To celebrate, Donovan’s wife Christine baked her husband a cake. But not just any cake.
The base layer of the tasty-looking creation — the picture of which was Tweeted by Walker — is orange frosting while the writing, “Congratulations on Walker & Hill,” is in blue. The crowning achievement is an alligator at the top, scales and all.
If this is how Billy Donovan’s wife rewards her husband for recruiting victories, we can only imagine the spread at their dinner table following Florida’s back-to-back national titles in 2006 and ’07.
