Michigan’s Jarrod Bunch, the 27th overall pick of the 1991 NFL Draft, talks about how he got involved in Brazilian jiu-jitsu after his football career, his fight against Michael Westbrook, the benefits of training in mixed martial arts and why there seems to be an influx of forrmer football players going into mixed martial arts (transcript below the jump).
Former Michigan back Jarrod Bunch is excited about the new spread offense, but worries how it will hold up as the temperature continues dropping this season.
Coming from the type of game that Michigan played when I was there, do I completely like (the spread)? Not quite, no. But they’re exciting. And they look really fast.
Jarrod Bunch will guest star in ABC’s “The Forgotten” next week. He shares info about the show and his role.
The show just started. I’m doing the third episode. It’s on next Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 10 p.m. on ABC — following “Dancing with the Stars.”
The New York Giants picked Jarrod Bunch 27th overall in the 1993 draft. After a promising start to his career, Bunch was out of the NFL four years later because of injury. And he’s not a fan of the dreaded ‘B’ label.
Playing fullback for the New York Giants, Jarrod Bunch was third in the NFL in yards per carry (4.8) in 1992. But he tore a ligament in his right knee during the first week of training camp while preparing for the 1993 season. He still played in 13 games that year. But after playing three games with the Oakland Raiders in 1994, his NFL career was over after just four seasons.
