Auburn BCS Title Ring Going for $6.5K

We know that many SEC fans would trade everything they owned for a national championship so why not spend $6,500 for a national championship ring?

That’s right, an apparently authentic title ring from Auburn’s 2010 national championship run is apparently on Craig’s List for that price and the website post alleges it was a starter for the Tigers.

Of course, if the player hawking his ring on Craig’s List is still on the Auburn roster, this would be an NCAA violation. If not, it’s just sad to see someone sell off something he worked so hard for barely a year after winning Auburn’s first national title since 1957.

We can hear the Cam and Cecil Newton conspiracy theories from here.

what if it is a player who has transferred to another school say like ASU? Would there be any punishment then?

Or a coach? Better sell them while they still have some worth. I remember seeing Auburn’s “People’s National Championship” rings on Ebay, for about $50 each.

Interesting that the listing has been removed.

Bet it is Dyer. What a shame .Whomever it is will probably regret this in the years to come

The ring belongs to Byron Isom, 2010 Senior. I emailed about it after seeing it on craigslist and he replied back to me with that same price. Of course I would not pay that much, but it is sad to see a player try and sell something so memorable.

maybe so, but keep in mind, that they received 3 rings: SEC, BCS, & AP….the BCS ring is by far, the ugliest…i’d sell it too.

    • SEC #1

The AP is by far the ugliest. The AP trophy looks more like the Lombardi on that ring. Whoever designed Auburn’s rings did a very poor job.

The players were for sale, and now the rings are. Auburn is the best
