FSU’s Winston: Texas Was My 1st Choice

Comments

Jameis Winston’s scintillating debut at QB for Florida State on Monday — 25-of-27 passing, 356 yards and five total TDs in a 41-13 beatdown of Pitt — quickly became a source of frustration for, of all people, Texas fans.

In addition, according to CBS Sports’ Bruce Feldman, Winston’s high school coach called Longhorns head coach Brown “four or five times” but never heard back. Instead of potentially having the next Vince Young on his hands, Brown is left wondering “What if?” - and not for the first time, either.

Brown recruited both of the last two Heisman Trophy winners, Robert Griffin III and Johnny Manziel, to Austin — to play defensive back.

Brown better get used to that toasty hot seat of his.
