MSU’s Jeff Smoker Figuring Out Life After Football

Michigan State’s Jeff Smoker left school in 2003 as the Spartans’ most prolific passer despite substance abuse problems that cost him five games in 2002. He had a journeyman career in the NFL, signing with four teams in two years before jumping to the indoor league circuit with the Nashville Kats and Arizona Rattlers. Today he resides in Grand Rapids and is still figuring out what to do in life after football. He recently helped host a charity event in Midland, MI, with fellow ex-Spartan T.J. Duckett; the two have a history of connecting in important situations. Jeff Smoker profile
