Video: WVU’s Eron Harris Punches Iowa State Guard
West Virginia had a rousing upset of 11th-ranked Iowa State in the bag on Monday night, only for Mountaineers forward Eron Harris to put a damper on the whole thing.
With a little more than four minutes remaining, Harris delivered a vicious blow to the head of Cyclones guard Monte Morris as he went up for a layup. It was presumably in retaliation for what transpired earlier in the play, when Morris’ teammate Dustin Hogue delivered an accidental (in our opinion) kick to the chest of WVU’s Kevin Noreen while coming down with an offensive rebound.
Harris was assessed a Flagrant 2 and ejected from the game and will likely be watching the next few Mountaineers games from the sidelines in street clothes.
