Meyer, Spurrier Golf Swings Draw Laughs

Comments

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier have mastered coaching college football but have room for improvement on the golf course.

Meyer was one of several college football coaches to compete in the longest drive competition at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Challenge on Tuesday outside Atlanta. Although he finished seventh with a not-too-shabby 254-yarder (NC State’s Dave Doeren won it with a 292-yard drive), Meyer’s swing could clearly use some work, i.e. lifting his back foot on the follow through.

That being said, as Eleven Warriors pointed out, it could have been worse. During the “Closest to the Pin” contest, golf fanatic and supposed single-digit handicap Steve Spurrier not only had a hideous swing, his divot appeared to go almost as far his golf ball while chunking the shot.
