UM RB Trash Talks ‘Little Brother’ MSU
Michigan running Fitzgerald Toussaint just added extra sizzle to an already-bitter rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State.
Like former Michigan running back Mike Hart before him, Toussaint referred to the Spartans as “Little Brother” after practice on Tuesday and vaguely guaranteed victory over them on Saturday in East Lansing.
Said Toussaint: “We labeled them as a little brother. And, you know, little brother always wants to prove themselves and try to beat up the big brother one day. I think they really take offense to that.”
“It’s going to be better in their house. Once we go over there and take care of business, it will (feel better than last season’s win).”
Why is Toussaint giving the Spartans bulletin board material after losing four of the last five to Michigan State? Apparently, the running back didn’t appreciate how the Wolverines were treated after losing in East Lansing in 2011:
“After the game, they told us to get off the field,” Toussaint said. “I don’t know if it (was the players), all I remember was ‘get off the field.’ That was very disrespectful.
“This is a business trip, but deep down, somewhere in my heart, it’s personal. That’s how I’m going to approach it.”
If it wasn’t already, you can bet this rivalry just got personal for Michigan State’s players too after these comments.
