Troubled Ex-QB Ryan Leaf Sent to Prison
The troubled saga of former Washington State QB and notorious NFL draft bust Ryan Leaf continues.
On Thursday, the Great Falls Tribune reported that Leaf was kicked out of his residential drug treatment program and sent to Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, MT, after he threatened a staff member.
Leaf had been sentenced to seven years in prison in June after pleading guilty to one count of felony burglary and one count of criminal possession of a dangerous drug and was to spend the first nine months of his sentence at Nexus Treatment Center in Lewiston, MT.
“The Montana Department of Corrections terminated Leaf from the treatment program and placed him in prison after he was found guilty of behavior that violated conditions of his drug treatment placement,” Dawn Handa, regional probation and parole administrator in Great Falls, said in a statement.
Had Leaf successfully completed his drug treatment, he was expected to serve only 15 months. Now he could be going away for much longer. Ryan Leaf profile
