Terps Family Very Angry with Big Ten Move

About the only entity in support of Maryland’s move to the Big Ten is the university’s Board of Regents. If it were up to the school’s current athletes and notable alums in the sports world, the Terps wouldn’t even think about leaving the ACC, the league it helped found in 1953.

Dan Steinberg of The Washington Post compiled a selection of tweets from past and present members of the Maryland family decrying the move. A few of them are listed below.

Terps defensive lineman A.J. Francis

Baltimore Ravens & former Maryland wide receiver Torrey Smith

Buffalo Bills & former Maryland defensive end Shawne Merriman

Los Angeles Sparks & former Maryland guard Kristi Toliver

TV and radio sportscaster Bonnie Bernstein

We take it Maryland’s administration didn’t consult a focus group before making its decision.
