Stromile Swift Pleads Guilty to Stalking

Stromile Swift’s descent from former LSU star and NBA lottery pick hit a new on Friday when he plead guilty to charges of stalking a Shreveport woman last year.

Swift, now 32, was arrested in May 2011 after Chaquinta Pouncy called local police to report that Swift was following her vehicle. Pouncy said that she and Swift had been arguing beforehand.

As part of the plea, Swift received a suspended sentence of six months in the parish jail and was ordered to serve 18 months on supervised probation.

As an LSU sophomore during the 1999-2000 season, Swift was the SEC Co-Player of the Year. He declared for the draft that spring and was selected second overall by the then Vancouver Grizzlies.

But Swift could never realize his potential at the next level, playing for four different teams in nine NBA seasons before last playing in 2009-10 with China’s Shandong Lions. Stromile Swift profile
