Sooner DC Stoops Disses Johnny Manziel

If Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops was at all impressed by how Texas A&M QB and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel torched his defense in the Cotton Bowl, he has a funny way of showing it.

John Hoover of the Tulsa World was kind enough to share Stoops’ thoughts on Johnny Football with the world.

We get that Stoops wanted to humble Manziel by reminding people that before he captured the Heisman, Johnny Football was best known for a shirtless mugshot. He also clearly wants to see Manziel stop showing his Twitter followers how much he’s living the good life, whether it be sitting courtside at NBA games or flashing money stacks at casinos.

But in light of the 516 total yards and four TDs that Stoops’ defense allowed to Manziel, his “advice” sounds a lot more like sour grapes.

Give credit to Manziel for a relatively subdued reaction — on Twitter, of course — to Stoops’ putdown.
