Shoelace: I Used Vaseline to Survive Cold
As a Deerfield Beach, FL, native, former Michigan QB Denard Robinson definitely had to make an adjustment to the often snowy and cold environs of Ann Arbor.
At a recent NFLPA event at the Rose Bowl for NFL rookies, “Shoelace” shared his method of braving the elements with former Alabama RB Eddie Lacy as the latter prepares for life in Green Bay with the Packers: Coating his arms with Vaseline and lots of it.
“It keeps the heat inside your body. It closes your pores up, that’s what it does,” Robinson told Lacy as part of a “rookies interviewing other rookies” segment done by SB Nation.
We’re going out on a limb to say that Lacy was somewhat skeptical of Robinson’s method when he proclaimed, “There you have it world. Vaseline: helps with snow.”
On the other hand, as reporter Gillian Van Stratt pointed out, “Something tells me [Robinson] just spilled the beans on how he was able to slip through defenders’ arms so easily.”
