Record 267 Fans Ejected at Miami-FSU

Want to know the ultimate sign that a onetime perennial football power is back on top? It’s when they have a record number of fans being ejected from their games for (mostly) being too drunk.

Florida State set a new “program record” by having 267 people ejected from Doak Campbell Stadium during the Seminoles’ 41-14 rout of Miami (FL) on Saturday night (Miami’s notorious fans certainly also contributed to the record). That number blew away the previous mark of 146, set during the 2011 home game against Oklahoma.

“If they were stumbling around or they needed friends to carry them through, we weren’t letting them in,” Florida State Police major Jim Russell told USA Today on Sunday. “Those people didn’t need to be coming into the game.”

Now that’s the FSU that we know and love.
