Rich Homie Quan Joining MSU at Rose Bowl?

Over the course of the 2013 season, “Type of Way” by Rich Homie Quan has become Michigan State’s victory anthem, so much so that head coach Mark Dantonio gave a shoutout to the Atlanta-based rapper after the Spartans’ Big Ten title game win (video above).

Now, there are plans to bring Quan into the MSU fold leading up to their first Rose Bowl appearance in 26 years.

“I want to be out there in a green jersey and feel a part of Michigan State,’’ Quan told MLive.com. “I want to be at the game, I want to be out there with them. I feel a part of Michigan State now, and you don’t even know what it means to me.’’

“Type of Way” became the Spartans’ unofficial theme song before the season at the insistence of All-American CB Darqueze Dennard - who, like Quan, grew up in Georgia.

“I kind of pushed it towards the team probably this summer, telling guys to listen to him,’’ said Dennard, whose No. 31 jersey Quan has requested. “But I can’t take credit for that. I think the team just made the choice about the song and everybody just rolled with it.’’

If the Spartans beat Stanford in Pasadena, we can only hope to see Rich Homie Quan and Dantonio embracing after the win.
