Race Car Driver Wearing OSU-Like Lid

Comments

Are you an Ohio State football fan in dire need of a fix in advance of the Buckeyes’ 2013 season opener against Buffalo on August 31st? If yes, then race car driver Patrick Gallagher has you covered.

Gallagher, an OSU junior, competes on the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Pro Racing circuit. At this weekend’s Mazda Playboy MX-5 Cup stop in Lexington, OH — located roughly halfway between Cleveland and Columbus — he’ll pay tribute to his school by donning an awesome, Buckeyes football-inspired racing helmet.

“I am thrilled to have the support of The Ohio State University and the opportunity to wear the school colors on a unique helmet design,” Gallagher said on the website of his racing team, C.J. Wilson Racing. “To have the support of so many people from such a large school like Ohio State is an incredible feeling. We will be looking to score a win for the whole OSU group!”

In addition, the helmet will be auctioned off after the race, with the proceeds going toward the Hematosis and Thrombosis Center at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Start digging into your wallets, Ohio State fans.
