Patriotic Helmets for UT-San Antonio?

Comments

The football program at the University of Texas at San Antonio has only been around since August 2010. But that hasn’t stopped them from accelerating their growth as a program.

For starters, the Roadrunners will play their 2012 season as a one-year member of the Western Athletic Conference before joining Conference USA in 2013.

The UTSA football blog Coker Chronicles — props to them for getting that up and running in the program’s nascent stages, by the way — published pictures of the Roadrunners’ alternate, all-white helmets back in January.

If you think those look good, Photobucket user PeteyPob published another photo on Monday of that same all-white helmet featuring a stars-and-stripes design for the Roadrunner logo and the UTSA word-mark.

The Reddit posting of PeteyPob’s photo says it’s UTSA’s helmet for its Military & UTSA Family Appreciation Day matchup with McNeese State on Nov. 10.

If that’s the case, it’ll be quite the star-spangled affair at the Alamodome.
