Oregon’s Mascot Loses Head Skydiving

Oregon’s mascot, Puddles, has been in the news many times before, whether it’s pummeling a fellow mascot, dancing with a USC cheerleader or running for President of the United States.

But the latest headline involving Puddles has to be the most bizarre. You see, the Ducks’ mascot went diving on Friday prior to Oregon’s game with No. 13 Stanford on Saturday and, in the process, lost his head - literally. That’s right, Puddles went skydiving in full costume for a segment on ESPN’s “College GameDay” and watched his head fall off during the descent and crash to earth.

The news naturally became instant fodder on Twitter, with Oregon senior associate athletic direct Craig Pintens paraphrasing Dumb and Dumber with this tweet.

Thankfully, KEZI 9 News reported that Puddles’ head was recovered about a mile from the landing area.

While the skydiving attempt didn’t go exactly as planned, it could have been worse. Ask Dana Holgorsen.
